Ordered my new ATV Plow - Tusk 60"
I ordered my ATV plow today. It's the Tusk City slicker 60" (Model TPK338), and I ordered it from Rocky Mountain ATV. It was a great deal, and should work great with my Polaris Sportsman 500 High Output ATV. My snow blower did a great job, but I'm hoping this will be even easier and quicker to use. It's a steal at $349.99 with free shipping and no tax for me.
I did do a lot of thinking about whether or not I wanted to get an angled blade (higher on one side) for an extra $60. There wasn't any conclusive information, but the general consensus was that the angled blade tends to throw the snow, and the straight blade tends to "roll" it forward.
This one attaches by replacing your factory skid plate in the front. I was trying to avoid a design that requires you to lose ground clearance. Some of them make you lose 3"+ of ground clearance, which really sucks.
This plow also connects with 2 pins, so it's pretty easy to hook up. I can keep the mounting plate on all year, and be ready to plow at a moments notice.
I expect it to show up sometime next week, and it shouldn't be too difficult to install. Now I just hope it snows soon so that I can try it out.
It's also nice because this helps me claim the ATV on my homeowners insurance if something happens to the house. The ATV is then considered a utility vehicle.
