Ryan’s Shots

Today we had to take Ryan in for his shots. He was measured to be 24.5″ tall, and 13lbs 8oz. He’s in the 95th percentile for height, and the 90% percentile for weight. He’s a giant.

He didn’t like the shots of course, but they were very fast. Now he’s not feeling the best, so we’ll have to see how he does overnight. He’s been sleeping a lot today, so he my not be tired much longer.

He has been doing excellent at night. He seems to be sleeping progressively longer each night. Last night, he sleep over 6 straight hours. He’s been sleeping more than 5 hours at a time very consistently.

Projection TV Rebate

The TV that I was talking about before, well I found a rebate on it! It’s worth $100, so that brings my price down to $300. The rebate expires the end of this week, so I’m looking at getting it in the next few days. I just have to see if a few things work out. I’ll keep you up to date. If you want to give me a Best Buy gift card for my birthday, I would appreciate it early. Thanks!

Day at Mike & Maria’s

Today we went out to my aunt and uncle’s house. We packed up the family and made the half hour journey to their house.

We had some excellent fajita’s with tenderloin, cheese, sour cream, beef, lettuce, and onions. I’m sure I’m forgetting some toppings, but it doesn’t really matter. The food is always excellent. It’s better than going to a restaurant.

We also played 5 games of darts. Almost every time I was winning up until the end. That’s when Mike would actually start trying. I’m sure he plays 8 hours each day, so I had no chance to win. Every once and a while he let my dad win so that it would look like he was beatable. I was on to him. There is a small possibility that it was actually my lack of skill. Nah.

New TV

As I mentioned before, I have $75 worth of gift certificates for Best Buy. While we were there, Melissa explained to me our need for a larger Television.

Here is what we looked at:
Sony KP51WS520 TV
It is the Sony KP51WS520 rear projection TV. Its gotten good reviews for the most part. We looked at the Sony because that’s where I have the most credit card points.

I’m trying to work out a way to get it for only a few hundred bucks. The base price is $1599, but I can get a 10% off coupon. Then I can use my $690.00 worth of Sony points from my Sony Card. I can get $250 worth of Best Buy gift cards from my other credit card. Plus you can subtract the $75 worth of gift certificates that I already have. Figuring in tax, that brings the total to around $500.00. I can basically take another $80 off if I use my reward zone card, bringing it to around $420. If I bid on some Best Buy gift cards on eBay, I can probably take off at least another $50, bringing the total to around $370.

So to make up some of the rest, please buy me Best Buy gift cards for my birthday in March. Or, you can donate to my tv fund using the following link:
Donate To Jason's TV Fund

Donations of $5.00 or more will increase the likelyhood that I will invite you over to watch the TV, so keep that in mind.

If you ever need a progress dialog for your Windows application, don’t reinvent the wheel. Use the one built into Windows. You can access it with a simple API.

Best Buy Gift Certificates

I have about $75 worth of Best Buy gift certificates expiring in a few months. What should I get? I was thinking about getting a Nintendo GameCube or a new camera phone. The GameCube would be a lot of fun, but we don’t have a lot of time to play these days. The camera phone would be nice, and I can get a $150 upgrade rebate back from Sprint, so it would basically be free.

What should I get?

Google ads messing up layout in IE

If you use Internet Explorer to view this page, you may have noticed that the layout was a little messed up. For some reason, the Google advertisements were affecting the layout. I got rid of them on this site because they were pretty useless.

Sledding with the 4-wheeler

Yesterday Melissa and I went out to my parents house to sled behind my parent’s four wheelers. We were out for almost 2 hours and we had a blast. It’s much easier than walking up a hill over and over. We were pulled down the hill, and up the hill. We also stayed and watched some movies. Ryan was very good, he slept most of the time, and only spit up once. Unfortunately, the one time he did spit up made for all the other times that he did. We are very sore today, but we would definitely do it again.

Lots of snow!

Yesterday we got about a foot of snow on our driveway. Towards the bottom, it drifted to around 4 feed. My new snowblower worked great. This was my chance to really break it in. However much snow you can put into the front end of it, it will blow. I’m glad I didn’t buy the one that had the smaller front end on it.
