Microsoft Money 2005

I got a copy of Microsoft Money Deluxe 2005 for christmas. When I upgraded my Money 2004 data file, it lost all of the starting balances for my accounts, so I had to recalcuate all of them. It also forgot about 10 occurrances of various bills that occurred in the past few months. Other than that, it’s pretty cool. It’s got a whole new look, and it’s pretty streamlined. They seem to be making it a lot simpler to use, while maintaining the advanced functionality. I may write a more comprehensive review later.

A detailed review would be great. I use $ 2004 and am interested in upgrading. Also, any tips on how to avoid problems you had while upgrading?

The best advice I can give is to make a backup of your old money file before you convert it. If possible, keep 2004 installed so you get look up your starting balances.

Fixing the bills & deposits section was fairly easy, because all I had to do was use the “skip next occurrance” feature on a few of them. There didn’t appear to be a pattern to which ones became “undone”.

I still have the backup of account recorded in mymoney file 2004 but i can’t open it anymore since the time I upgraded it to mymoney 2005. Those figures are very important to me. Is there a way that I can still open it? I need your advise on this. Thanks.
