Baby Shower

Today was the baby shower for Ryan. We got a lot of wonderful gifts, so thank you all for your generosity. I got a copy of the photos that Jeni had on her camera and uploaded them here. We have already set up a lot of the stuff so that we are all ready for him. Melissa and Jeni went through everything and got it all organized. Thank you Jeni for all of your help.

During the shower, I went to Title Town Brewery with my dad and uncle Mike. We had some good food and played some shuffle board.

Brain in a dish

I read an extremely interesting article about a rat brain in a dish. Basically, some scientists put some brain cells into a dish, hooked it up to a computer, and trained them to control a flight simulator. The article is available here.

Lamaze Class

Saturday Melissa and I had our Lamze class. We had it all in one 8 hour day. It was pretty interesting. There were all types of people there, ranging from the 16 year old girl with her mother, to the old couple that waited until the last minute.

We got a quick tour of the hospital, focusing on the maternity and child sections. The birthing suites are very nice. Everything is very fancy, and makes it feel much like a hotel room. The attached bathroom has a nice whirlpool tub. As nice is everything is, I’m sure I’ll be glad to get out of there.

Melissa has been busy working on Ryan’s room, and organizing his toys. My parents were nice enough to bring us a big load of new toys. They are much appreciated. We are all anxiously awaiting his arrival.

I keep getting coupon codes for 10% off at Target.com. It must be because we are registered there. If you would like one of the codes, let me know in a comment to this post, or an email. You will be able to get us more for the baby shower!

JibJab Bush Kerry Sequel

A few days ago, JibJab made a sequel to their famous “This land is your land” animation. They are both available on their website.

Halloween Decorations

Today Melissa and I put up our Halloween decorations. Just wanted to warn you so you wouldn’t be scared if you stopped by.

Grandpa Monfil’s 81st birthday party

Melissa’s grandpa Monfil’s had his 81st birtday party last night. Almost all of the family that lives in the area was able to attend. Rick fixed his broken fan switch. We all ate some delicious chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. All the photos can be found here.

Visited Parents

Tonight we went out to my parents house. Melissa got to see their new four-wheelers, and I even gave her a quick ride. But don’t worry, they have a better ride than my car. It’s pretty amazing actually. My mom made an excellent batch of mashed potatoes, and my dad cooked massive amounts of steak. We introduced them to the movie Bad Santa. They seemed to really enjoy it. We also got some peach tree branches for Tabitha. I’m sure she’ll enjoy them.

It’s getting difficult to go anywhere because it isn’t easy hauling my large wife around. And she has to have something to eat every 2 hours, and I only need to eat every 4. I know it’s not her fault, it’s just the human being living inside her. For me, it’s just the fact that I’m a growing boy.
