Tabitha Vet Visit

Today Tabitha (our pet rabbit) had a checkup with the vet. She got a clean bill of health. We were just told to watch her weight. She’s on the upper end of her acceptable weight. Right now, she weights 5.5 pounds Of course she was terrified at the vet’s office because she was spayed on her last visit there. She’s all better now.

Boring Life

Sorry that my life has been so boring lately. I’ve been working a lot because I have a lot that I want to get done. I don’t have any emergency projects around the house, and I’m really trying to save some money.

Tonight we went to a baptism class so that we know what we need to do the day he get’s baptized. As usual everyone was very friendly. We are going to have him baptized during Sunday mass on January 2, 2005. We want Ryan to learn about religion, the church, and faith. Mark it one your calendars if you have not already. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Bonfire

Last night I went out to my parents for a bonfire. Mike and Maria, and Mike and Barb were also there. We had a lot of fun, and some good hotdogs and hamburgers. The highlight of the evening was when my dad tripped over the dog. Neither animal was hurt. The jokes went on for hours. My parents got us lots of diapers, socks, and clothes for baby Ryan. Thank you!

Refinanced

Friday Melissa and I finished our refinancing. Our next house payment will be in November, and we won’t have to pay any more PMI insurance! Yay! Our rate is now 5.8%, but that doesn’t make much of a difference over 5.6%.

Clean garage and powered basement

Today I cleaned the garage, with specific attention given to the third stall. We had wood, cardboard, sticks, and other crap piled up there. I cleaned it all up today, so now only our bikes are there. It looks a lot different. I also cleaned up my workbench and finally put all my tools away.

Afterwards, I did some electrical work in the basement. I want to have separate switches in every room, so that I don’t have to turn on all the lights every time I go downstairs. I also moved my dehumifier to the center of the basement where it could be more effective. Of course there were no outlets there, so I had to install one. I had to do it sooner or later anyway. I have a lot of extra drywall so I might start drywalling some of the walls that are done some time.

And then there was light

Menards finally had the light fixture I needed in stock. I’ve been living with my office half dark for the entire time so far. Now that I installed the second light, there is the perfect amount of light in this room. In case you’re wondering what it looks like, you can view it here.

Tonight I got caught up with the huge pile of rebates I’ve been accumulating. It’s such a pain, but it will be nice when I get the checks.

What’s happening

Yesterday Melissa and I started the refinancing process. We will be closing the end of the month.

After that, we went over to our friends (Adam & Melissa) place. We sat by the fire, and watched the Packer game outside. They played pretty good, but I was upset that I didn’t win any money in the Packer pool I was in.

At work, I mentioned to my boss that it was Programmers Day so he was nice enough to buy us pizza for lunch! Yay!

What I have been up to

I’ve been slacking on my blog entries lately. Sorry about that. I’m going to catch up right now.

Melissa and I have been working hard on getting the nursery ready. I put the crib together so she was able to get that ready. I posted some photos here. I also got the fan installed. It was only $12 because Menard’s was having a fan sale. It’s pretty small, but it has 6 blades. I had to put another switch on the wall, and while I was at it, I made the light switch a dimmer. That way when we have to go into Ryan’s room while he is sleeping, we don’t have to turn on a bright light.

Last night we say the movie The Terminal. It was a very good movie. It kept my attention, and had a fair amount of humor. I definitely recommend it. The next movie I’m waiting for at the theater is Alien vs Predator. My mom and I are going to see it when it comes to the budget theater.

Today I went to church because Melissa asked me. I was bored out of my mind as expected. I can’t believe how many people go and don’t even pay attention. Why are you there??? Someone once told me that if you aren’t there for yourself, then you are wasting your time, and disrespecting God.

Today I picked up some chair mats. I don’t want to ruin my new carpet. I messed up the carpet in my old office a little bit.

I was at Menard’s today and bought a shelving unit with 5 shelves. It was on sale for $15 so I couldn’t go wrong. I already assembled it and plan on using it for some light stuff that I store for my office. You can view a photo of it here.

Well I think that’s everything. That will teach me to get behind…

Freaky Photos

I had to post this, it’s really messed up: http://www.humandescent.com/page1/gallery1.htm

They are all photos of things combined. Just check it out, you’ll know what I mean when you see it.
