Kevin & Rachel’s Wedding

Kevin & Rachel’s wedding was really great. A lot of people from out of state came in to be with them. The reception was a lot of fun. Their DJ was very unique, and really made the evening what it was. He announced the arrival of the wedding party, and introduced each couple. It was really nice for those who did not know some of them. There were quite a few speeches before supper, and included the best man, the brides father, and even the groom himself. Kevin told us the exciting story about how they met at the theater they were working at. The food and the drinks were excellent. During the dancing, the guys from the wedding party dressed up as the Village People, and gave an excellent rendition of YMCA. I got some great photo’s, and I will be posting them for friends and family to view very soon here.

The trip back was great. We got out of Detroit very early, so we avoided the traffic there. We were on the road around 7am (central). We stopped for about an hour to eat at Big Boy for breakfast. I hadn’t eaten there in a long time, and was very happy with their breakfast buffet. Driving through Chicago was pretty easy. We hit a little bit of traffic, but nothing to complain about. We ended up getting home before 5pm (central), so the driving time was around 8.5 hours. It was almost exactly 500 miles each way. For future reference, we took 43->94->90->94->14->696->53.
